Yesterday I rode 100km between Philadelphia and Lancaster, for the first time with full load, after the latest shopping in camping gear. The bike is very heavy now. I have to engage the bigest gear at the minimun uphill.
Along the way I saw the Amish. I thought they lived far away from the rest of the people, but to my surprise, they live mixed in society. Their houses are only different from others in that instead of having cars parked in front of them there are horses and wagons. However they use powered tractors with engines. Some of them sell at the door handicrafts or agricultural products.
Today I have been taking a bike ride around the area, although the weather has not supported me and it has rained a lot.
