Norfolk, Virginia.
Yesterday I passed the mouth of the James River, the place of the first English settlement in North America in 1607. From the ferry with which the river crosses, I saw both sides covered in lush forests. Apart from the ships, there were hardly any signs of human presence, in Spain it would have been full of urbanizations. Based on the edge I was excited to understand that I was seeing the same landscape and from the same place as those first settlers who arrived 400 years ago and understood the desire to settle and conquer that beautiful and wild land.
